Aracena and Riotinto Day Trip From Seville

A mountain range full of nature, culture and secrets underground.

From Seville, we'll head northwest to pass Rio Tinto. This mining area and its famous reddish river make up a Martian landscape created more than 2000 years ago. On our route, we'll stop to enjoy this natural spectacle located in the province of Huelva.

We'll continue our route to the Dehesas de Sierra Morena biosphere reserve. We'll visit this enclave dotted with mountain villages and forests of holm oaks and cork oaks where you can learn about the life of its inhabitants. A space inhabited by the fighting bull and the Iberian pig, animals that are part of Andalusian culture and that we will be able to see.


Our path will take us to the town of Aracena where we will visit its castle and the Grotto of Wonders, a cave located in the middle of the town and whose geological formations will not leave anyone indifferent. Other places that we can discover in our own are the Peña de Arias Montano where you can walk through the Mediterranean forest enjoying the surroundings or other corners of the mountains such as the mosque of Almonaster la Real, or if we request we can have the possibility of visiting a farm of fighting bulls or a pasture of Iberian pigs.

Visit the Italica Roman Ruins from Seville

We will begin the excursion to the Roman city of Itálica starting from one of the meeting points and traveling in private transport as indicated. There will be a short ride and then we will be able to enjoy the Ruins of Italica. Our official guide will give you a brief presentation of the tour and we will enter the ancient city, which saw the birth of emperors like Adriano and Trajano, to discover all the secrets of the place.

The famous Itálica Amphitheater is the third largest one in the world, with a capacity for 25,000 spectators and where the famous gladiatorial fights took place. It is one of the highlights of the popular Game of Thrones series as well.

We will also visit its famous Roman Theater, discovered in the middle of the twentieth century, one of the best preserved in Europe and still in use today. After the visit to the archeological enclave, Naturanda will accompany you to the Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo. Here there is a medieval fortress that hides treasures from the Mudejar, Gothic and Baroque periods, mural paintings, and significant sculptures. Inside are the sepulcher of the Guzmanes and other works of undoubted historical-artistic value.
